A Bit About Us

Our story begins over 20 years ago, when Chris McKenzie made the move to Ocean Isle Beach with his wife Allysa and their three children. Shortly after settling on the coast, Chris started his construction business, specializing in remodeling and home repairs. His craftsmanship, reliability, and dedication to helping homeowners quickly earned him a strong local reputation.

During that time, a partnership with Kim Angel naturally formed—one built on trust, shared values, and a passion for quality workmanship. As the company grew, Chris started collaborating with Kim, working closely alongside Kim's expertise on custom home projects in the area. 

The family legacy continued when Chris’s son, Shane, who grew up spending his childhood on job sites and learning the trade firsthand, chose to pursue construction as his career. Shane later married Maggie, who brought her own strengths to the business and now runs the office with organization and care that keeps everything running smoothly.

Today, the McKenzie & Angel team is built on family—both by blood and by bond. With decades of combined experience, a commitment to quality, and deep roots in Ocean Isle Beach, we’re dedicated to helping families love the homes they live in and build the homes they’ve been dreaming of.
